Amitabh-Jaya-Rekha love-triangle: Why Amitabh-Rekha's love story remained incomplete?
Jaya Bachchan accepted an insignificant role in the film 'Zanjeer' so that Amitabh's film gets a big star. Most of Amitabh's earlier releases of Zanjeer were flops and Jaya was a bigger star than him.
Jaya's help shows how much she loves Amitabh. His star reached the summit as soon as Jaya entered Amitabh's life. He became a superstar.
During this period of superstardom, Amitabh Bachchan did a few films with Rekha. Rekha was quite judgmental then. She was raw. She was unconscious. Was not a commercial approach. There was not much understanding towards life. Did not know how to build a career.
On the other hand, Amitabh belonged to a educated family. The qualities of Harivansh Rai and Teji Bachchan were influenced by him. There was a good grasp on Hindi and English language. He is also very practical due to the influence of Teji Bachchan.
In science it is said that 'positive' is attracted towards 'negative'. In the magnet too we see the effect that opposite poles are attracted towards each other. The same effect also applies in life.
Amitabh and Rekha were completely different and this attracted them both. Amitabh-Rekha's films started to be liked and they used to shoot continuously together. Rekha came into contact with Amitabh and saw a surprising change. As if a connoisseur has carved them.
She started looking beautiful. Started talking sensible things. He learned to test people. Amitabh rejuvenated him and while doing this he got himself fascinated on Rekha. Often the sculptor starts liking his sculpture. Filmmakers die on the character of their heroine.
Rekha and Amitabh's discussions started buzzing. To capitalize on this, Yash Chopra created 'Silsila'. Earlier, the film featured Smita Patil and Parveen Bobby opposite Amitabh, but later Rekha and Jaya Bachchan took the place in the film.
It is said that Jaya was not ready to do this film, but Amitabh agreed to pressurize her. In this film, Amitabh was seen romancing with Rekha in front of Jaya's eyes and probably did not need acting. His expressions looked very real.
The audience did not like this act and the series was badly beaten at the box office. People did not like the fact that, despite having a wife like Jaya, her beloved hero should romance someone else in real life.
Today, even though the audience is not concerned with the real life of a star, the thinking of the audience then was quite different. Today even a criminal plays the role of an honest person on the screen and the audience applauds.
It was also said about Amitabh and Rekha that both had arranged a secret marriage. Jaya Bachchan must have been distracted by the discussion of this romance.
However, destiny was more acceptable. In Bangalore, Amitabh was shooting for his favorite director Manmohan Desai's film 'Coolie'.
On July 26, 1982, a fight scene was being filmed on Amitabh and Puneet Issar at the Bangalore University campus. In this fight scene, the timing went wrong and a corner of the table was found in Amitabh's stomach.
He completed the scene but later he had such a condition that for months he struggled between life and death. The whole country was praying for him.
During this, Jaya Bachchan demonstrated her mental strength. She stayed with Amitabh with the shadow. He was looked after and handled. Amitabh returned from the mouth of death. The way Jaya played the wife religion affected her deeply.
Amitabh became 'healthy' and this love triangle broke. Amitabh made a distance from Rekha, even though they have not forgotten each other till date.
It is said that Rekha still puts sindoor on Amitabh's name. One-sided love. It is not easy to fathom Amitabh's mind.
Puneet Issar was not at fault, but Rekha resents him. When Puneet was part of the Bigg Boss Show, Rekha also came as a guest on this show and she did not even look at Puneet.
