Mumbai. Today is the birthday of Bollywood actor Ranganathan Madhavan (R Madhavan). He was born on 1 June 1970 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Even though this shy actor still has a tremendous craze in girls, but R. Madhavan says that due to his dark complexion he was afraid that he would get married or not. Madhavan quipped that my wife Sarita was my student and one day she asked me to go on a date.

He also said that my color was dark and I didn't know if I would ever get married or not, so I thought this was a good chance and I accepted this proposal. Madhavan belongs to a Tamil family where education was given much importance, despite this he failed in the 8th. Somehow he got admission in engineering college of Kolhapur.


Madhavan came to Mumbai for the purpose of making a career in films. Started with TV. He acted in a TV serial Banegi Apni Baat which came in 1996. In the same year Madhavan also did a role in Sudhir Mishra's film 'Is Raat Ki Dawn Nahin', for which he was not even given credit. Then in 1997 Madhavan He also auditioned for Mani Ratnam's film 'Irular', but later Mani Ratnam rejected him by saying that he was not fit for the role.

Madhavan got his first recognition from TV. They started going from house to house with serials like 'Ghar Jamai', 'Saya', 'Sea Hawks' and 'Ye Kahan Aaye Hum'. The first break through in Madhavan's life came in the year 2001 when he settled in the hearts of people in the role of Maddy in Gautam Menon's film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. The audience loved the character of the boy who loved a girl like a diva, that Madhavan was also awarded the Screen Award for this film.
